ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL ADVISOR/PARA-PLANNER

Position Overview:
The Associate Financial Advisor/Paraplanner works directly with the Lead Financial Advisor to assist with investment and financial planning needs of clients. This role is a key member of the service team for all clients. The Associate Advisor/Paraplanner has service and financial planning responsibility with assigned client groups and assists the Lead Advisor in gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data to prepare financial plans for clients.
The ideal candidate is organized, takes ownership of their role, is proactive, and passionate about delivering service at or above the Single Point standard. They have a high comfort level with technology and ask questions when needed. They enjoy working as part of a team and are equally capable of working independently to achieve individual and team goals. And they want to grow long-term within our expanding organization. This can be either a part-time or full-time position.
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Providing support for processing client service needs.
- Responding to all client communication within our company guidelines.
- Assisting with creation and implementation of workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and enhance client experience.
- Assigning and monitoring tasks and workflows of team members to completion.
- Conducting annual reviews with assigned client groups.
- Maintaining proactive client contact and providing on-going client service.
- Meet all regulatory obligations, including, but not limited to, maintenance of logs & blotters, record keeping, client communication and client suitability reviews and updates.
- Preparing financial analyses and financial plans for clients.
- Assisting with analysis, rebalancing, and administration of client investment portfolios.
- Conducting investment research, reporting, and analysis.
- On-boarding of clients in accordance with firm procedures.
- Participating in firm level strategic planning meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- College degree preferred (BA/BS/Masters/MBA), at minimum at least AA.
- Two (2)-Five (5) years securities or related industry experience required
- Series 7 and 65/66 securities license, or a Series 6/63 and obtain a 7/65/66 within the first year of hire.
- Additional designations are a plus (CFP®, MBA, CFA, ChFC, RICP™, etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, etc.)
- General knowledge with Financial Planning Software (eMoney and MoneyGuide Pro)
- Client Relationship Management system experience (Redtail CRM is a plus)
- Demonstrating professional, ethical and courteous conduct when dealing with clients, prospects, colleagues, and other businesses with which we interact.
- Empathy and high emotional intelligence needed in dealing with sensitive client issues.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects on time.
- Ability to keep track of open tasks and project priorities.
- Ability to see opportunities within the current book of business
- Understands the Financial Planning process
- Ability to investigate and research situations
- Have a proactive approach to client service and problem solving
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail, time management, and exceptional organizational skills are essential for success.
- Flexibility in day-to-day workflow and ability to pivot and adjust priorities.
- Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This is a W-2, salaried role with an incentive-based bonus. Experience and Licensing will determine starting wage. Range is $26 to $32 per hour. Bonus is based on a percentage of annual salary.
